Ceramic, porcelain, and natural stone β fully custom patterns, colors, and layouts.
Some homeowners want the seamless, low-maintenance surface of ONYX solid surface. Others want the specific look only real tile can deliver β a herringbone accent wall, a natural stone floor, a bold mosaic niche. Solidbath installs both, so you're never boxed into one material.
With tile, every wall, floor, and accent is built piece by piece, which means near-total flexibility on pattern, color, and layout: subway tile with a contrasting grout color, large-format porcelain slabs with minimal grout lines, natural stone like marble or travertine, or a mix of several tiles in one shower for a custom, designer look.
Solidbath handles the full job β tile selection, waterproofing, layout, and installation β so it's still one contractor and one timeline, whichever material you choose.
The most budget-friendly option, available in an enormous range of colors, sizes, and finishes.
Denser and more water-resistant than ceramic, including large-format slabs that minimize grout lines.
Marble, travertine, and slate for a high-end, one-of-a-kind look β each tile naturally unique.
Classic and pattern-driven layouts, with contrasting grout color options to define the look.
Feature strips, niches, and shower floors in mosaic tile for a custom designer touch.
Fewer, bigger tiles for a cleaner, more modern look with less grout overall.
Tile gives you the widest possible range of colors, patterns, and natural materials β if you want a very specific designer look, tile is usually how you get it. The tradeoff is maintenance: grout is porous, so it needs periodic sealing and regular cleaning to resist staining and mildew, and grout lines are more numerous the smaller your tile pattern is.
ONYX solid surface trades some of that design range for a seamless, grout-free surface that's easier to keep clean day to day. Neither material is "better" across the board β it depends on what matters more to you: maximum design flexibility, or minimum upkeep.
